Stop "Learning AI". Start Making AI Actually Do Something (Especially If You Are an SME or Non-Techie).

It seems like the world is full of AI Experts and AI Gurus. You attend an event, meet people, and suddenly feel intimidated just being in the room with those who casually mention "AI".
But what is AI, really? It is wizardry? A kind of spell that you can somehow set someone on fire, or hypnotize someone to fall in love with you?
Somehow that's how many people talk about AI.
Make it look like they know something you don't.
They make it seem like once you "know AI", you'll suddenly be able to use these spells to make your business problems disappear.
Meanwhile, your business is struggling. You are wondering if there is a cure - if maybe, just maybe, learning about AI will be the magic solution you need.
You start exploring. You wander here and there, trying out different tools. But before long, you are lost.
Your curiosity pulls you in every direction. You try out different tools, but nothing really sticks. You hear your competitor is now "using AI" - so you tell your team to "use AI", too. But what does that even mean?

Most Of Us Are Better Off Without "Learning AI"
When people talk about AI, they talk about data, machine learning, engineering - heavy, complex stuff.
Before AI became the buzzword, how much did you really know about what the data scientists, engineers and machine learning experts did?
Not much, right?
So why now do you feel the need to learn everything about AI?
Why do you need to know which LLM model perform best, which AI infrastructure company's stock is rising, or what new AI tools launched this week?
These details will drain your energy and waste your time - unless your business requires you to be the expert in the topic (like mine is).
Spending hours on AI training sessions or thousands of dollars on "AI for Executives" workshops likely won't deliver a real return, unless you know what problems you are trying so solve with the knowledge.
(I provide workshop for executives too, but I make sure we identify the goals before anything.)
If you’re an entrepreneur or SME owner, you don’t need to “study AI.” You just need a simple understanding of it - and a clear grasp of what problems you’re trying to solve.
Can I Avoid Learning AI Altogether?
You can, if you know how to stay competitive in your space.
Remember: everyone knows a calculator is faster than an abacus. You could keep using the abacus... if you are ok with being slower or less accurate.
Learning how to use the calculator wasn't so hard - and the benefit was clear.
Learning to use AI (especially Generative AI) is similar - it's tool to boost your efficiency (for now). You don’t need to become an expert. You just need to know how to use the right tools for the right tasks.
That’s the sweet spot for AI for non-technical professionals.

Simple AI Strategies For Beginners
If you’re determined to “learn AI,” let’s talk about simple, real-world ways to do it - without overthinking it.
These tips are especially useful for those exploring AI for SMEs, AI for non-techies, or AI for entrepreneurs.
1. Start with the Basics
Forget about the algorithms. Just understand that AI is about machines doing tasks that normally require human intelligence: recognizing faces, responding to voice, analyzing data, and so on.
If you haven’t already, download our free resource: AI101: The Absolutely Must-Knows of AI.
Avoid deep-dive technical articles. Your goal right now is to build comfort with the concept, not become a full-stack ML engineer.
2. Use Everyday AI Tools
You probably already use tools like ChatGPT or Gemini. Voice assistants. Email filters. Even your Netflix recommendations - these are all powered by AI.
Using them daily helps you internalize what AI can actually do.
You don’t have to become an AI “power user.” Just use the tools to improve your workflow. That’s enough.

If not, sign up for our newsletter and join the conversations.
Our content is curated specifically for non-technical entrepreneurs and SME owners. No fluff. No hype. Just practical, actionable ideas.
Don’t be afraid to ask “beginner” questions. Everyone starts somewhere, and our community is built to support people just like you..
How Do You Know If AI Is Helping You?
If you’ve begun learning the basics and you’re experimenting with prompts, the next step is simple:
Step 1: Find A Problem To Solve
Remember, it’s not about “using AI”: it’s about solving real problems with AI.
Is a process too slow? Are there errors in your data entry? Are you wasting hours on something repetitive?
Focus on the problem - not the tech.
Step 2: Set Small Goals
Don’t try to climb Mt. Everest first. Don't tackle everything at once.
Pick a single task or workflow. Try to improve it slightly - maybe cut the time in half. Explore if AI can help.
With only US$29 for a limited time, we can identify off-the-shelf AI tools that can help you optimize your workflow. We promise this will save you a lot of time to research and identify what works for you.
If it works? Great. If not? You’ve learned something. That’s ROI right there.
Once you start thinking, “Could this AI tool handle 80% of this task?” - you’re thinking with an AI-boosted mindset. That’s a win.
Step 3: Practice And Iterate
After hitting one small goal, move on to another one. Then another one.
You don’t need a five-year digital transformation plan. Just keep iterating - learn, apply, adjust.
That’s how real progress happens.

Your Next Step Toward "AI Confidence" (Sort Of)
My AI tool suggested I use the phrase “AI Confidence.”
I find that term a bit silly.
There’s no such thing as “AI confidence,” the way there’s no such thing as “history confidence” or “MBA confidence.”
Confidence comes from experience. From doing the work. From getting things done.
Working with GetItDoneWith.AI won’t make you an AI guru. But we will help you learn just enough to make AI work for you.
That’s our promise. No million dollar bill attached. No fancy McKinsey decks.
Just real tools. Real conversations. Real results.
So stop trying to “learn AI.”
Start getting things done - with AI by your side.
